What makes YOU laugh?

Okay, here is my concern. I think I may have broken the part in me that makes me laugh out loud. Seriously, I don't know what happened to it. While I must admit I have never been one that does the great big, from the bowels of the deep horselaugh, I still can do a chuckle and depending on the company, a real pants wetting episode of giggles, but lately I have been reading blogs that other commenters state were so funny that they couldn't breathe. And yet here I would sit reading funny stuff and maybe, on a good day, a little smile would find it's way to the front of my face. Now don't misunderstand me, I do feel the warming sensation that comes with a funny tidbit or two and I do feel that sense of well being that accompanies a fine well-written funny grouping of words, I just don't express it openly.
But all is not lost, my dear friend Elaine emailed me an article written by Dave Barry about Colonoscopies and I not only smiled, I laughed right out loud. Oh my! What does that say about me and my tainted sense of humor? Wait, don't answer that, I don't really want to know.

I could have written this word for word including the Dave Barry part. He always makes me laugh! Worse yet, to flip this around, I was laughing so hard at the post I wrote today that tears were streaming down my face, yet, most of my readers found it freaky rather than funny. So, what does THAT mean? Scary. (So, where do I find this DB article and does it have anything to do with the word verifier: atectiom? That sounds pretty colonoscopy-ish, doesn't it?)

Ryan has one of those from the belly laughs! He was even in a milk commercial for it!

Dave Barry always brings laughter to my soul. I don't laugh that often right now either. Perhaps it is where we are in life. But one day we were playing in the store on a really long day with no customers. We chased each other like little kids playing tag. I laughed so hard I could barely breathe!!!

I love your sense of humor! And I agree, most of us don't laugh out loud enough in a day. Hurray for Elaine and for articles about colonoscopies.
Love you

I have decided it is a small world when you start blogging--which really is a fairly new hobby for me. The first blog I ever read was Scripture Mom, which led me to Heidi Ashworth's. Then I discovered Momza's House on my own, which I also love. Yesterday I found a comment on my blog by you, so I read your blog, saw you read Momza's house and when I went back to hers, saw you are also Heidi's cousin. So I figured we have to be friends, to have so many other friends in common. Although, truth be told, I haven't actually met any of you.:-) But I enjoyed reading your blog, particularly your lastest posting because I have been thinking about writing something about laughter. Now my challenge will be to write something that will actually make people laugh outloud. Oh, the pressure!:-) Thanks for dropping by.
