Is it hot in here or is it just me?

Today was not altogether ordinary, there was yet one more fire to put out and hurt feelings to massage, you know the typical stuff. The thing that made today different from every other day was the fact that I actually felt good about the fire extinguishing thing.
Sometimes I do things out of pure habit, sometimes out of guilt and sometimes I actually do things with the intent to fix something so that I can move on. Today was the latter. And can I tell you, it felt good.
I am not saying that I was in the wrong completely or the other party was in the wrong completely, (I think that in most situations there is blame to go around and then some)but it felt good to finalize something that has been nothing but a nagging rock in my shoe. Isn't it funny that we can do something to ease someone else's misery (not to mention our own) but we don't do it. We just continue to limp along trying to adjust the rock in our shoe to different positions thinking it will hurt less somewhere else instead of stopping, taking off the shoe, shaking out the rock, and moving on. I tell ya, as humans sometimes I think we are not quite playing with a full deck. Anyway, it is done, at least this episode is done and I am free to move on to the next fire.

Roxanne, you are so right! We just keep hoping that rock will go away or we won't feel it anymore. There is certainly a lesson to be learned from this--thanks!

I'm all for dumping rocks out of my shoes...they eventually chip my toenail polish off!

Bravo, Bravo I say. Sometimes I think that the rock in my shoe will iritate my foot enough, that when I pull my shoe off there will be a shiny pearl there instead. Alas, for some reason it's always still a rock. here, here for communication!! Isn't is grand!
Love you.
